Student Visa Options

• ELICOS (Subclass 570)

  • This visa is for international students who want to study English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) in Australia.

    This visa allows:

    • You to study up to 60 weeks, but only 50 weeks for countries with an Assessment Level (AL) 3+.
    • You can work up to 20 hours per week when you have commenced your course of study in Australia. During breaks, you can work unlimited hours.
    • Multi entries until visa expires.
    • You to obtain another student visa.
    • You can bring family members with you if you are from AL1 country.

    Requirements:

    • Good health.
    • Have access to sufficient fund - about AUD$35,000.
    • Cash at bank must be in the bank for a minimum period of three months depending on some countries.
    • Must have on-going income.
    • Must have Overseas Student Health Cover.
    • Must have an offer from an eligible Australian Education Provider (CRISCOS).

    Estimated costs:

    • Visa application charge AUD$540.
    • IOM service charge about AUD$25 - for countries with an AL2+.

• School Sectors (Subclass 571)
  

  • This visa is for international students applying to study in Australia and whose main course of study is a primary school course or a secondary school course, including junior and senior secondary

    This visa allows
    

    • You to study up to Year 12 secondary school.
    • You can work up to 20 hours per week when you have commenced your course of study in Australia. During breaks, you can work unlimited hours.
    • Multi entries until visa expires.
    • You to obtain another student visa.
    • A family member to accompany you as a guardian if you are under 18 years of age.

    Requirements:

    • Good health
    • Have access to sufficient fund. For countries with an Assessment Level (AL) 1 & 2, the requirement is about AUD$35,000, and for countries with an AL3+, the requirement is total amount of tuition fees and living costs for the full period of study.
    • Cash at bank must be in the bank for a minimum period of three months depending on some countries.
    • Must have on-going income.
    • Must have Overseas Student Health Cover.
    • Must have an offer from an eligible Australian Education Provider (CRISCOS).
    • Minimum of 20 weeks of English Study or an IELTS 5.0.

• Vocational Education & Training (Subclass 572)

  • This visa is for international students applying to study a vocational or technical course.

    This visa allows:

    • You to study up to two years.
    • You can bring family members with you.
    • You and your family members can work up to 20 hours per week when you have commenced your course of study in Australia. During breaks, you can work unlimited hours.
    • Multi entries until visa expires.
    • You can obtain another visa after completing your courses.
    • You maybe eligible for Permanent Residency (PR) visa application if you have completed at least two years of vocational study.

    Requirements:

    • Good health
    • Have access to sufficient fund. For countries with an Assessment Level (AL) 1 & 2, the requirement is about AUD$35,000. For countries with an AL3+, the required amount is inclusive of tuition fees and living costs for the full period of study.
    • Cash at bank must be in the bank for a minimum period of three months depending on some countries.
    • Must have on-going income.
    • Must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
    • Must have an offer from an eligible Australian Education Provider (CRISCOS).
    • An IELTS score of 4.5 with further English study undertaken before the course commence or an IELTS score of 5.5.
    • Completed Year 11 or a vocational certificate

• Higher Education (Subclass 573)

  • This visa is designed for international students applying to study a course at an Australia University or equivalent.

    This visa allows:

    • You to bring family members with you.
    • You and your family members can work up to 20 hours per week when you have commenced your course of study in Australia. During breaks, you can work unlimited hours.
    • If you are doing a Master degree, your family members can work unlimited hours once you commence your Master degree.
    • Multi entries until visa expires.
    • You can obtain another visa after complete your courses.
    • You maybe eligible to apply for a PR visa application if you have completed a minimum two years of study.

    Requirements:

    • Good health.
    • Have access to sufficient fund. For countries with an Assessment Level (AL) 1 & 2, the requirement is about AUD$35,000. For countries with an AL3+, the required amount is inclusive of tuition fees and living costs for the full period of study.
    • Must have on-going income.
    • Must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
    • An IELTS score of 6.0 or more, or English study in Australia prior to the commence of the main course.
    • Completed Year 12 or a vocational or trade certificate.
